Photos — Spiritual Renewal Evenings
As part of our 25th anniversary celebration, Evenings of Spiritual Renewal and Song were held Monday-Thursday, August 8-11.
The theme for the evening followed the daily theme of Vacation Bible Camp.
On Monday evening, Fr. Thomas McCabe, recently assigned pastor at Immaculate Conception, Lonsdale, spoke and music was provided by the contemporary music group Joyful Noise. Father McCabe’s topic was, “Prayer is Intimacy with God”.
Fr. Dennis Evenson, retired pastor at Church of the Annunciation, Hazelwood, and co-pastor at St. Dominic (with Bishop Paul Dudley) from 1996-1997, was the speaker on Tuesday evening. Fr. Evenson spoke about “Giving Thanks in Prayer”. Joyful Noise again provided the music.
Wednesday evening, Fr. Ken O’Hotto, pastor at St. Mary’s in Waverly, returned to St. Dominc. Fr. O’Hotto was associate pastor here from 1980-1984. He spoke about Zacchaeus, the tax collector. The 4-part Adult Choir led the singing.
Fr. Jim Perkl, pastor at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Hastings, joined us on Thursday night. Fr. Perkl was associate pastor here from 1984-1986. Fr. Perkl spoke about Jesus as the bridgroom and his love for us. Students from Vacation Bible Camp performed the songs they learned during the week.
